Course Description: The intent of this course is to train teams of law enforcement on the intelligence and awareness of terrorism.

  • Program:
    • Understand that each terrorist incident is often preceded by a long planning and preparation period.
    • Identify likely terrorism targets and distinguish between targets identified by law enforcement and those identified in the al Qaeda training manual.
    • Recognize, identify, and understand various indicators and warning signs exhibited by terrorists/extremists.
    • Understand and describe different types of domestic terrorist/extremist groups.
    • Describe the ideologies of, the tactics used by, and the activities engaged in by different types of domestic terrorist/extremist groups.
    • List the structure and activities of major international groups.
    • Understand the criminal intelligence process and its ability to enhance contributions to the criminal justice system.
